We are seeking to appoint an inspirational teacher with an excellent track record of raising achievement.

The department is stable and consists of ten Maths specialists. It is a strong team committed to school improvement. High quality teaching and learning is our expectation. The team works collaboratively and welcomes new ideas. It is well-resourced. A*-C grades have doubled in recent years. GCSE Further Maths and A Level Maths are available. Training and support is a natural strength of the department. There is an excellent CPD programme. We have been key contributors to the development of trainee teachers within the School Direct programme. As the Subject Lead within the programme, our record of supporting trainees to complete with good and outstanding outcomes is impressive.

Any member of the team who demonstrates teaching of at least good standard consistently qualifies for a £3000 per annum enhancement to their salary. This is regularly reviewed to ensure standards are maintained and is in addition to natural progression through the Pay Scale.

The school is a rapidly improving school. GCSE results reflect this. Harwich and Dovercourt High School is an 11-18 Academy with 1200 students. It belongs to the North East Essex Education Partnership Trust of 7 local independent academies committed to collegiate working and development. This is an attractive part of the country with excellent links to London and the Continent. 3 years rent/mortgage subsidy or relocation package up to £8,500 available.
