Colegio Alegra is a private Catholic school in Madrid, Spain. We opened in 2011 and now cater to approximately 550 students. We are growing; proud of our success and the name we are making within the educational community in Spain.

Our British infant and primary school (children up to age 8), offers a curriculum based on the British National Curriculum. Our upper primary and secondary school have a more international framework but continue with a strong English programme.

For September 2015, we are seeking enthusiastic professionals with relevant teaching qualifications and a minimum of two years' experience to fill posts for Lower Secondary Key Stage 3 English and Science.

We are looking for fluent English speakers (preferably native speakers), who work well in a team that includes students, staff, parents and the outer community. Our teachers must be flexible and committed to working to help our school continue to develop constructively.

Successful candidates will be dedicated to the teaching profession and will demonstrate:

  • Vision, decision and creativity
  • Successful experience of planning, assessing and teaching at the KS3 level
  • A clear understanding of what constitutes outstanding practice and professionalism
  • A clear understanding of statutory requirements
  • Ability to create a positive and child-centred learning environment
  • High levels of organisation and the ability to plan effectively to meet our students’ individual needs
  • Legal ability to work in Spain (working visa etc. for non-EU citizens)
  • Catholic values

Alegra British & International School is an independent/private British and International school in Madrid for pupils aged 3 – 18.
