Owing to the substantial upsurge in pupil numbers, the school is expected to be full to capacity along with many other local secondary schools.

Harrop Fold runs a calendared programme of directed time events including Senior Leadership Meetings, Head of Faculty Meetings, regular curriculum meetings and developmental opportunities both on a personal professional and school led basis.

Location

Harrop Fold School is situated in Worsley, Salford, between Walkden and Little Hulton bordering Bolton, Bury and Trafford. The school is well served with easy access to the A6 and A180 (East Lancashire Road) as well as the motorway networks of M6, M56, M61, M62. Within walking distance is a railway station which serves the Wigan, Southport, Bolton and Manchester lines and the new V1 & V2 guided bus-way from Atherton & Tyldesley to Manchester City Centre.

There are a range of local shops and a supermarket close by, and we are within a few miles is Salford Quays with its wide diverse selection of shops, restaurants, cinemas, clubs and amenities.

Our classrooms are well equipped science and design technology labs, three Apple Mac suites, music practice rooms, a recording studio and two drama studios. The school’s sports hall includes cricket nets, five-a-side pitches, trampolines and basketball facilities.

Values and vision

Our core purpose as a school is to raise achievement for all, delivering a rigorous academic education alongside effective personal, social and moral development. We work hard to ensure Harrop Fold School is a happy place to learn and work and provide equal opportunities for all.

No matter their starting points, we stretch and challenge students to reach their potential through a broad, balanced curriculum and wider enrichment opportunities. We provide clear objectives for learning whilst offering the chance to work independently and with others. We celebrate achievements and provide individualised praise through the Class Charts reward system, sharing this with both pupils and parents/carers.

We value our relationships with parents and carers. We know it is essential to communicate effectively with them and work collaboratively to secure the best possible outcomes for students.

Partnerships are also important to us and we aim to work closely with both the local and wider community. As a school we value our international links and constantly seek ways in which pupil experiences can be broadened to prepare them for life beyond school and the world of work, including through our Student Futures programme.
