This post is suitable for an outstanding Maths teacher in their second year of teaching or a more experienced colleague.

It is an exciting opportunity to join a good and improving department that is on the journey to becoming outstanding. The successful applicant will have a significant role in further improving teaching and learning both in Maths and across the school so that teaching is graded at least ‘good’ and a significant proportion is ‘outstanding’.

We are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic teacher who will inspire both our staff and students. This role will provide significant career development opportunities and as a school we are committed to supporting our staff and help them fulfil their career aspirations.

About Caldew School

Caldew School is a popular, rural 11-18 mixed comprehensive school situated south of the city of Carlisle with a catchment area that extends to the fringe of the Lake District. We have 1000 pupils on roll including Sixth Form.

We have a good and improving track record of achievement at all examination levels, good resources and facilities and a rich programme of visits and extra-curricular activities.

Our Ofsted inspection in June 2022 graded Caldew as ‘good. However, we are not complacent and we know that there are areas where we need to do better.
