The Westgate School came under new Headship in September 2023 and is seeking to appoint a team of Lead Practitioners to coach, support and inspire teachers to be the best classroom practitioners that they can be.

•  Lead Practitioner (Maths)
• Lead Practitioner (English)

The role will be required to teach 1-2 Exam classes (12 lesson per fortnight) and the rest of the time is expected to be focused on in-class coaching, co-planning & delivery and modelling best practice. 

The school has subscribed to and will be deploying Tom Sherrington’s ‘Teaching WALKTHRUs’ coaching programme as our framework to ensure consistency of best practice. 

All post holders, if not already, will be supported to gain the SSAT’s Lead Practitioner accreditation.

Applicants are kindly asked to pay special attention to the person specification and be able, during a scrutinising interview process, to demonstrate substantial evidence against any of the criteria.
