This is a unique opportunity to be instrumental in something really special.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic, well qualified and skilled practitioner to take on the position of Lead Teacher for English (Language A) in the Secondary sector at Parkfield School. This is a small department of two teachers (including the Lead Teacher) with a third English teacher to be appointed in 2016.

Parkfield School opened for the first time in September 2013 and will be moving to a new permanent site in Hurn, Bournemouth in September 2015. Parkfield is a two form entry, all-through Free school, and will eventually have students from age 4 in Reception through to age 18 in the 6th Form.

The Trustees have developed an innovative and creative vision for the school where Reception and KS1 children are taught using the Montessori method. In KS2 our students are taught through the International Primary Curriculum (IPC).

In the Secondary sector of the school students will be taught the International Baccalaureate curriculum. (IB MYP and DP), Key Stage 4 students also take GCSE English.

Applications are sought from candidates who:

  • Hold QTS
  • Have a minimum of two years teaching experience
  • Are dedicated and highly motivated
  • Have a track record of good/outstanding teaching
  • Are passionate about the education of young people
  • Have excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Are prepared to take risks
  • Are open to new ideas in education

The ability to teach Drama would be an advantage although not essential.
