Job overview

At Jubilee Primary School, we are committed to meeting the needs of all our pupils in our developing resource provision for hearing impaired pupils. We are looking for a dynamic, passionate and committed Lead Teacher with specialist skills and recent experience in teaching children with hearing impairment in a primary school, to further develop our provision at this exciting time.

You will be able to demonstrate a passion for learning and a commitment to achieving high outcomes for hearing impaired children in collaboration with mainstream colleagues. You should have recent experience of: working in a resource base, teaching hearing impaired children, supporting school staff to plan and develop effective inclusion, as well as independence of children with a hearing impairment.

Candidates should have qualified teacher status, a mandatory qualification in hearing impairment and a qualification in sign language (BSL level 2 or higher/equivalent). An additional qualification in Audiology would be an advantage but not essential. A willingness to learn new skills and a positive 'can do' attitude is vital. You will need to have a flexible approach to meeting individual children’s needs and be willing to adopt alternative strategies to ensure positive outcomes for all our children.
