The Trustees of George Dixon Academy are seeking to appoint highly motivated and talented Maths teacher who is committed to raising the expectations and achievements of our community and transforming outcomes for our students.

We are looking for an inspirational teacher with vision, tenacity, optimism, strong interpersonal skills as well as a proven ability to motivate and lead change. We are seeking candidates who are interested in working in a progressive team that prioritises collaborative approaches to raising standards. The successful candidate will support the further improvement in the teaching and learning of Maths and play a key role in helping improve student progress across the Academy.

George Dixon has achieved Academy status due to the exceptional rise in academic performance as recognised by the Department of Education; and was given the judgement of Good in all categories by Ofsted in January 2013. The Academy has also received national recognition, in 2014, from both the Minister of State for schools and the SSAT for the excellent progress of our students. We are in the top 100 schools for value added nationally.

George Dixon Academy is a secondary school located in Birmingham, West Midlands. Founded in 1906, the school provides places to approximately 1000 pupils aged 11-18 in a co-educational setting, with around 100 of these on roll in the school sixth form, making it average-sized for a secondary school of its type.
