Learning Support Assistant

Required for 17.45 hours per week, mornings only, during term time.  This post is to work on a one to one basis with a Foundation Phase pupil with Additional Learning Needs and will commence in September 2015.

Working under the direction of the Headteacher or Classroom Teacher, you will provide support as a member of a team, (or individually), for pupils in a class. This will take the form of assisting the Class Teacher through participation in class / group / individual lessons. You will also be expected to assist in the preparation of materials and displays, clear away resources as required, and contribute to the delivery of individual education plans (IEPs) under the direction of the Class Teacher.

A good standard of education, and an understanding of children/ young people's needs and rights, together with experience of working with children and excellent communication skills is essential for this role.
The ability to use Sign-a-Long would be an advantage.
