Barking and Dagenham College is one of the region's largest providers of engineering training and assessment and we are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team. You will teach across a range of programmes from Level 1 to Level 5, delivering to both full time 14-19 learners and to part time adult students. If you possess excellent communication skills and are able to professionally interact with students and colleagues alike in order to convey high level of technical ideas and instructions and feel that you have the ability to meet each student's unique needs by having an in-depth understanding of the Engineering industry then we would like to hear from you.

You must have a degree or equivalent in electrical/Electronic or mechanical Engineering, a teaching qualification or be prepared to undertake a further education teaching qualification, NVQ Assessor Award (A1) or equivalent, Internal Verification Award (V Award) or equivalent.

Recent and relevant experience in teaching Mechatronic, PLC programming or Electronics is essential. knowledge of automation and control systems to include PLC, Pneumatics, Hydraulics and Robotics, knowledge and experience of designing and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems, experience of delivering Engineering Science and experience of delivering Maths at level 3 and above.

Located in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, Barking and Dagenham College is a large further education college providing qualifications and work skills to learners aged 14 and over. The college has seen extensive redevelopment and modernisation since its founding, and as a result can boast of a wide range of different teaching and recreational facilities. The college also works closely with external providers and business partners, in order to provide some teaching and work-experience off-site for students who require it.

Barking and Dagenham College offers a huge range of courses for learners of every kind, young and old, full and part-time. Of particular importance are courses aimed at 16-18 school-leavers, with a number of A-level and BTEC courses being run by the college, as well as foundation degrees for students looking to go into higher education. The college itself does actually offer a limited number of higher education degree courses, with students able to take advantage of the college's location and flexible financial offerings.
