Job overview

Uxbridge College is a highly successful Further Education College situated in West London. We achieved the grade of ‘Outstanding’ in our last Ofsted inspection (May 2008).

The College is seeking to appoint a full time Lecturer to deliver English up to Level 2, teaching students from a range of curriculum areas. This could include either GCSE English and/or Functional Skills English.

As well as a degree in English or a Humanities subject, you should have an advanced level teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one. You should have at least an English GCSE qualification at Grade B or above or a Level 3 qualification in English. You should also have some experience of delivering English to 16 to 18 year olds and you should understand the exam requirements in this curriculum area.

Shortlisted applicants would need to demonstrate their knowledge in the subject area by undertaking the College’s ability tests.
