Kirklees College is a large and successful FE college which was rated Good following our last Oftsed inspection. Learners achieve high levels of success due to the quality and commitment of our teaching staff, with learners benefitting greatly from their vocational and professional expertise.

We are now seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to deliver Biology at Level 3 and L2 to students on the college’s BTEC Applied Science, GCSE Biology and Access to Higher Education programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to join our professional science team, working within a state of the art building, with excellent on site facilities, such as a fully equipped gym, hair & beauty salons and fine dining restaurant.

The successful candidate will make a significant contribution to the effective delivery of the curriculum, in line with the College’s Quality Improvement Strategy. They will ensure a high quality and relevant learning experience for all students.

The ideal candidate will have previous substantial experience of teaching in the subject area at Level 3, with experience of delivering to adult learners a highly desirable feature of the post. The qualifications deemed essential for this post include a Degree/Higher National qualification or equivalent in Biological Science or related subject, a minimum of Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy (e.g. GCSE English at grade A*-C), and a Level 5 Teaching Qualification or willingness to undertake within an agreed timescale.
