Job overview

You will plan and provide high quality teaching and learning on a range of courses, provide tutorial and pastoral support for at least one group of learners.

The area currently delivers a range of NVQ courses to match employers’ and student’s needs with qualification pathways at Level 2 and 3, along with professional qualifications for industry. The students follow courses of study which allow progression opportunities within the Hospitality and Catering industry both local and worldwide and onto either other vocational courses, employment or Higher Education.

The Hospitality and Catering area needs a dynamic, flexible and motivated lecturer with relevant professional and teaching knowledge with experience in at least two or more of the following disciplines:

  • Professional Cookery (preparation and cooking)
  • Food and Beverage service
  • Barista
  • WSET trained or equivalent
  • Food hygiene

You will be expected to inspire students and be part of a very motivated, supportive and forward thinking team which will look to enhance the curriculum breadth, and develop strong links with local industry and align the provision to reflect the demands of this dynamic sector.

This post carries a five year housing licence and you can expect to:

Leading an exciting new approach to Further Education in the unique British Island of Guernsey.

Guernsey College of Further Education has over 5,000 enrolments each year and offers a wide range of courses for the Bailiwick community.  We have 5 key areas of provision: 

•  14-16 – high school pupils can access a range of vocational qualifications as part of their year 10 & 11 provision.
