The School of Education is ranked 2nd in Scotland and in the top 15 in the UK for the volume of world-leading and internationally excellent research in education. Researchers employed in the School of Education come from a range of disciplines, including education, science technology and mathematics, modern languages, sociology and psychology.

The purpose of the post is to lead, design, co-ordinate and deliver courses on Modern Languages Education to develop existing curricula in these fields; to encourage, develop and supervise research and to contribute to CPD provision. The post holder will undertake high-quality research within the field of education or an interdisciplinary area within the College of Social Sciences and publish in leading international journals.

Experience of teaching French and/or Spanish to school age pupils is essential as is an up to date knowledge and understanding of research and scholarship in Modern Languages and contemporary developments in research and policy in Modern Languages. You must be eligible for registration with the General Teaching Council Scotland (GTCS).
