We are looking for an enthusiastic Lecturer in Psychology to join our team.

As a Psychology Lecturer, the main responsibilities of your job are to:

  • Work as a subject specialist as part of a dedicated department delivering A-levels and Access to HE courses as part of the Faculty of Academic Studies.
  • Act as course leader and principal lecturer for A-level Psychology.
  • Be expected to contribute to the delivery of Access to HE Psychology units.
  • Help to develop the curriculum schemes of work, working with your team as appropriate.
  • Ensure that assessment is in line with the awarding body requirements for individual subjects.

The ideal candidate will have a full Teaching Qualification, e.g. Certificate in Education, PCGE, DTLLS or the desire to achieve. It is essential for you to be qualified to degree level or professional equivalent in a relevant subject area. Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy is required. We are looking for someone who has a thorough knowledge of the subject, and has experience in teaching and assessing.

About West Kent and Ashford College

West Kent College is a mixed, non-denominational further and higher education college in Kent, serving students from the age of 16 and above. The college has campuses in Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.

West Kent College was founded in 2014 after K College’s six campuses were split into two units. The Tonbridge and Tumbridge Wells sites and the two sites in Ashford were taken over by the Hadlow College Group – making two campuses West Kent College and Ashford College. A third campus, East Kent College, has taken over the Folkestone and Dover sites. West Kent College offers courses at GCSE level to Degree programmes, which are validated by the University of Kent, University of Greenwich and Cantebury Christ Church University. Facilities include radio studios, hair and beauty training salons, a training restaurant, music recording studios and photography studios.
