A Level 3 Teaching Assistant is required to support a child with medical and learning needs who will be in Year 5 from the start of September 2015.

The successful candidate, as well as supporting the child with their medical needs, will be part of the Year 5 team and will help adapt resources and activities to support the child's individual educational needs. Training to assist with the child's individual needs will be provided and the role would also involve monitoring the child at lunchtimes. The successful candidate will work 5hrs each day, 25 hours per week, supporting the children in the classroom.

The Governors are looking to appoint a person with a suitable qualification. The successful candidate will be expected to have the knowledge and skills to support key stage 2 children and should have substantial experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs. It is essential that the person appointed can be flexible in their approach to work and is able to work using their own initiative. The successful candidate will be expected to have full involvement with the wider aspects of school life and the local community.

This position is attached to the individual child; the duration of this post is dependant on the child remaining in school and it is envisaged that the child will stay in mainstream school through Y5-6.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children/young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will be sought, along with other relevant employment checks and completion of the disqualification by association declaration form (Childcare Disqualifications Regulations 2009).

Visits to the School are welcomed. Job Description and School Prospectus are attached. Please apply online or return completed applications direct to the school.
