The Governors of Blessed John Henry Newman RC College a vibrant and transformational comprehensive college with state of the art facilities are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and passionate individual to the role of Literacy Mentor. The successful candidate will deliver a literacy intervention programme aimed at increasing reading ages and literacy skills of identified cohorts of pupils whilst establishing and maintaining a culture of ‘reading for pleasure’ by actively promoting strategies developing pupils’ literacy skills to enable them to fully access the school curriculum.

About Saint John Henry Newman Catholic College

Saint John Henry Newman Catholic College is a Catholic Secondary School located in Chadderton, Greater Manchester. It falls under the  Diocese of Salford.

The school was formed in 2011 from the amalgamation of St Augustine of Canterbury RC High School in Werneth, Oldham and Our Lady’s RC High School in Royton. The merged school was originally based over the two former school sites, but moved to a new building.
