This role is based in the UK and will be working on site in our UK based College.

BACKGROUND TO THE POST

The Marketing Department plays a key role in promoting WCG to potential students and employers at a local, regional, national and international level. In addition, the department provides marketing activity to support the income of the college’s commercial activities – e.g. our conferencing venues, Pershore College Garden Centre & Nursery, and more. The department also plays a central role in gathering information and communicating through multiple channels to all our key stakeholders.

Reporting into the Head of Marketing & Admissions, the Marketing Manager leads the operational work of the dynamic, highly motivated and results-driven marketing team. In partnership with the Head of Marketing & Admissions and other members of the college management team, the Marketing Manager will ensure WCG meets its recruitment and growth targets in line with the college’s strategy.

Line managing a team covering all elements of the marketing mix, the post holder will ensure that robust plans are in place to market all elements of the group’s provision, interpreting data and responding to trends and market analysis as required. The Marketing Manager will oversee the production of all prospectuses and printed materials, all website content and development, and all multi-channel marketing campaigns. The post holder will also manage the resourcing and promotion of a coordinated annual schedule of events and school liaison activities.

The post holder will be required to hold a full UK driver’s licence as travel to other colleges is required, and will occasionally work evenings and weekends to support events.

Essential Attainments:

✓Educated to at least degree level in an associated subject, or have a substantial track record of relevant work experience

✓Demonstrable experience in marketing planning and execution across multiple channels

✓Relevant experience in leading a large team within a busy marketing function

✓Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people at all levels 

✓Experienced and highly proficient in managing CMS and CRM systems

✓Ability to demonstrate a secure understanding and knowledge of website accessibility, data protection and CMA regulations 

Desirable Attainments:

✓Experience working in the further or higher education sectors

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

✓CIM or other relevant marketing industry qualification, or is currently working towards 

✓Demonstrable experience of sourcing and analysing relevant market intelligence and associated data to inform marketing plans and to ensure appropriate market segmentation 

✓Ability to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults 

✓Ability to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of Equality and Diversity. ✓Ability to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

✓Ability to demonstrate behaviours which support the Core Values of the College.
