Myscience’s vision is ‘a world leading STEM education for all young people across the UK’. As such, we manage a range of programmes dedicated to support those teaching STEM subjects, including the highly successful National STEM Centre and National Science Learning Centre, along with the wider network of Science Learning Partnerships across the UK. Through these and other programmes, we provide high quality; subject specific Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in the form of physical and online resources, courses, mentoring, networks and other support across the vital subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Mathematics Specialist to help increase our reach and quality of engagement, ensuring the National STEM Centre becomes and remains the ‘go to’ inspirational resource collection for all teachers of the STEM subjects. In addition this role will work to support the development of CPD to support the teaching of mathematics.

To be successful, you will have a clear passion for and track record in the teaching of mathematics. You will have successfully developed yourself and others through the use of subject-specific CPD, including experience of delivery within and across schools. You will be a strong and effective communicator, with a proven track record of influencing effectively across a variety of audiences at all levels.

You may currently work in one of a range of educational environments, but must have recent and relevant subject/school leadership experience gained within the last 5 years. You will be an excellent communicator who can create productive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. With a real desire to ensure mathematics teachers can access the highest possible quality support, you will have the creativity, drive and tenacity to make this a reality.

In return, we can offer an excellent working environment within a dedicated and enthusiastic team, along with an opportunity to make a real difference to STEM education across the UK.

This position is offered on a one year fixed term contract on a full or part time basis (minimum 0.6fte). Flexible and alternative working patterns may be considered including secondment and consultancy.
