We are looking to appoint an energetic, warm and inspirational teacher to join our committed Mathematics department at an exciting time of growth and development. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who really wants to make a difference to the lives of young people. Our single goal is ‘Students First’ and you will be joining a strong team of professionals working to this sole aim. A £250 per month (until 31 August 2025) recruitment allowance is included for the successful candidate.

We have 10 teachers, two specialist numeracy teaching assistants and two dedicated maths one-to-one tutors. The department is a combination of experienced staff, including a primary maths specialist and a secondary mastery specialist, and more recent entrants to the profession. Teaching takes place in the department’s ten new classrooms. Every classroom has a large television screen, several write on whiteboards and a visualiser and these are all used extensively by the team.

Outwood Grange Academies Trust provides a high-quality learning and cultural environment that inspires and motivates children. Whether you are ambitious for progression or determined to be an outstanding classroom teacher, Outwood Academy Hemsworth is the place for you. Leadership development, succession planning and capacity building are major priorities for the Trust as this enables us to facilitate rapid progression for those who want to advance either in the classroom or at a leadership level.

You will be well supported by an experienced team of teachers and Directors as you work to raise attainment levels and offer an engaging curriculum experience that focuses on teaching for understanding.

The Academy benefits from being part of the Outwood Family of Schools, which affords opportunities for staff to work and progress across several schools if desired. All staff are guaranteed a minimum of two hours CPD per week and a further comprehensive programme of professional development is provided through our own network of teaching schools. Our Executive Director for Maths leads Yorkshire and the Humber MathsHub and there are a significant number of opportunities for you to get involved in the fantastic projects they run.

If you are interested in joining this team, please contact Melanie Lee, Regional Director of Maths (m.lee@outwood.com) who would be pleased to tell you more, either by email or telephone (07525 834098), and we would be delighted to welcome you on a visit if you would like to see us in person.
