Royal Russell School educates over 1000 girls and boys between the ages of 3 and 18 and is situated on a beautiful green campus of 110 acres in the Shirley Hills near Croydon, only 30 minutes from Central London. We have over 180 boarding students in the Senior School and are proud of our state of the art day and boarding facilities as well as the warm pastoral provision provided by our Housemasters and Housemistresses. Our pupils, parents and staff experience a warm and friendly environment with strong pastoral care for every pupil alongside a comprehensive co-curricular and enrichment programme. You will support the Media department to deliver the practical elements of their GCSE, A Level and BTEC courses. Media Studies is an incredibly popular subject and also provides our students with many opportunities to use their practical skills in whole School events such as our highly successful MUN Conference and Royal Russell Day where our Media students create content and live broadcast the event . As our Media Technician, you will assist students to produce their own media texts for their extra-curricular Media projects and supervise their use of the Media Studio and Apple Mac edit suites.

You should ideally have experience in a studio environment and have the ability to use Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Photoshop to effectively edit moving image and photography. You would have the desire to work on live events as the team provide professional support to many School-run events throughout the year. You should have high levels of computer literacy, good organisational skills and be equally happy working unsupervised as well as part of a team to a high standard. This is a full-time, term-time position with the requirement to work for an additional 5 days during School holidays to support Media events. Your normal working hours of 37.5 per week (7.5 a day) will be by negotiation depending on the needs of the department’s timetable. On occasion some flexibility will be required.
