Are you a compassionate and dedicated healthcare professional looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young learners? The Stamford Schools are seeking a dynamic School Nurse to help develop and provide high class nursing care to the school's students, as well as all members of the school community, as Bank Staff.

This role would be suitable for a Medical Professional that wants to broaden their horizons in an educational environment. This is a 0-hours contract, to provide additional cover at the Schools where required.

This role will be essential for providing cover for any of our Nurses' absence, so will therefore involve working with students of all age groups across our sites. This will range from EYFS - Sixth Form.

The successful candidate will work in accordance with their professional body to maintain the excellent standard of healthcare at Stamford School . The medical professional will be responsible for providing support and advice to all members of the school community, as well as treating pupils and members of staff where appropriate. Understandably, this role will require high levels of confidentially so must adhere to the school's strict confidentiality policy, and pay close attention to data protection guidance to maintain every individual's personal information.

This clinical role will include, maintaining a safe environment, providing confidential health advice and treatments, supporting mental health, working with parents to promote good parenting, updating the 'need to know' lists, maintaining clinical equipment, and adherence to the school's safeguarding policies and procedures.

The post-holder will be flexible to the changing needs of the school and will directly involve themselves in all aspects of the medical provision across the SES family. It will be essential to maintain all healthcare records for boarders and day students, as well as liaising with boarding house staff to update them on boarders’ medical conditions.

Further responsibilities of this position will include, covering absences and illness of Nursing team, arranging and attending GP surgeries, maintaining medical stocks, working with trip leaders to ensure the appropriate risk assessments are complete, staff training (where necessary), assisting with the administration of medical administration, assisting with the school immunisation programme providing a first aid service for the whole school community.

This post may also include providing first aid cover for home sporting fixtures every Saturday during term time, as well as on sports days and concerts.

Bank staff will maintain their professional registrations and be prepared to work with children from EYFS-Sixth form (4-18 years). Bank staff will be required to cross sites regularly, attend occasional staff meetings and Beginning of term INSET.

Requirements:

  • Appropriate professional qualification.
  • Appropriate professional body registration.
  • High standard of clinical work and decision making.
  • Experience in treatment of any of the following: Sporting injuries, Orthopaedics, Minor illness, Accident and Emergency, Practice Health Nursing, School Health Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Ears Nose and Throat Nursing.
  • Experience in assessment of minor illness and injuries.
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive in stressful situations.
