The Principal of the college was part of the team behind the success of the flagship school of Trinity Multi-Academy Trust, Trinity Academy Halifax. Using Trinity’s robust, clear systems and support; we can ensure that teachers can focus on developing their teaching and our pastoral teams can support students to break down any barriers to their learning.

The college is growing and is able to provide a range of vocational courses to students, and is also developing how it can offer a range of apprenticeships. We aim to have our apprenticeship offer available from September 2017.

Our ambitions are high and our commitment to improvement is relentless. Our systems are adapted to suit our unique environment, and ensure that learning is personalised to students and individual learning plans identify and respond to student career plans and their needs.  Important to us is ensuring our students are ‘work ready’ when their studies finish.  Our young people need to be equipped to enter the workplace and we deliver this through support to succeed at interviews, work experience to prepare them for work and a strong enrichment and tutorial programme.

To achieve our vision we invest in our continuous professional development (CPD) programme. Our CPD package replicates that of the flagship school and through investment in a weekly CPD programme, led by outstanding and experienced practitioners, we are able to deliver a programme that is delivered as a whole college, or in sector areas and is an invaluable opportunity for whole college development or tailored sessions relevant to each sector.

Our courses are delivered by specialist sector lecturers, who are not only qualified to teach but hold many years of industry based experience. The working environment is supported by committed, hardworking and supportive colleagues who are focussed on improving outcomes for young people.  We have high expectations of staff, we expect staff to challenge our students and themselves and aim to display these in all that we do.

Working for the Maltings College is rewarding, we can offer a fantastic environment, excellent CPD programmes and a range of opportunities to progress. These ambitions are shared across all schools within the trust. If you are interested in working for the college, please see our visit our website www.themaltingscollege.co.uk
