Outstanding Assistant Head Teacher

The Head Teacher and Governing Body are looking for an excellent, highly motivated and dynamic Assistant Head Teacher to join our dedicated staff. We are a four-form junior school, with an ethos of high expectations and high achievement. We operate in a friendly environment where the development of the whole child is at the heart of everything we do.

The successful candidate will support Literacy and Maths in Year 6 with dedicated time devoted to management responsibilities and mentoring and will:

• Have a proven track record in raising standards, particularly in the core subjects and ICT.
• Be able to demonstrate excellent, creative and challenging teaching particularly in raising attainment of Able and Talented pupils, with significant experience in year 6.
• Well qualified, articulate and committed to the very highest standards in education.
• Have knowledge and experience of SEND matters and closing gaps in attainment.
• Have a working knowledge of the current debate about the curriculum and philosophies about best practice and contribute creative ideas to SLT.
• Be able to evidence enhanced ICT skills.
• Have experience of coaching/mentoring newly qualified members of staff .
• Be driven by the ambition to succeed and make a difference and be actively committed to own professional development.
• Be hard working, flexible, adaptable and a team player.
