A wonderful opportunity has arisen to teach in the top Independent Preparatory School in Lancashire.

The position is a full time post to cover a maternity leave, from September 2015 and is likely to be until at least the Summer half-term 2016.

Highfield Priory School is a member of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme and salary is above the main Teachers’ Pay Scale.

Highfield Priory Independent Day School (a charitable trust) welcomes boys and girls from 6 months to 11 years. It is located in the North West of England, on the outskirts of Preston, within easy access to the Ribble Valley, Fylde Coast and the Lake District. The school prides itself on its high academic level of achievement and is ranked 1st in the county and 29th in the country for its NCT results (as in The Sunday Times). Pupils are supported and guided in their preparation for entrance to the Grammar and Independent school of their choice.

The curriculum is supported and extended with many specialist teachers and facilities. The children enjoy lessons in our Science Laboratory, Art Studio, ICT Suite, Performing Arts Studio, Sports Hall and we have plans to construct an Astroturf Pitch on our school site this summer.

The school believes in encouraging every child to aim high: to reach his/her full potential in all areas. The successful candidate would be expected to make a valuable contribution to our extensive extracurricular programme.

The school is a member of the Independent Schools Association and supports a number of regional and national events.
