Job overview

How much you achieve in life should not be determined by how much your parents earn. Yet in the UK, it too often is. We believe in the power of education to change this. We are an education charity working with others to give every child the right to a decent education.

We’re looking for a brilliant communicator with a background in education, teacher training and/or contract management to manage Teach First’s Initial Teacher Development contract with our partner university (Training Provider) for the new and expanding East of England team.

This is a pivotal role for the organisation and East of England team to ensure our participants (trainee teachers) are meeting their goals in the classroom. As Partnerships Manager for the East of England you’ll join a fast-paced and growing team, working across three pockets of the East of England; Ipswich, Peterborough and Norwich & Great Yarmouth. It will be your job to ensure effective communication between the Training Provider, your colleagues and our schools.

You’ll build effective relationships with the training provider and local schools to ensure the highest possible quality provision for pupils and strive towards achieving the Impact Goals for the East of England to ensure that Teach First has a positive and quantifiable impact. You’ll manage systems and processes across the partnership in accordance with both the local area context and national requirements.

This role will be Norwich based, with office spaces available in Ipswich and Peterborough. You will manage a team of 4 Senior Officers who are directly responsible for managing school relationships and supporting all East of England trainee teachers. This team is spread across the three pockets and we’re looking for someone who will be comfortable to line manage a geographically dispersed team.

We’re looking for someone with strong stakeholder management experience, credibility with schools and a sound understanding of initial teacher development/training. Ideally someone who is not differed by barriers and enjoys a challenge. You should be able to use tools and systems to monitor compliance and be experienced reviewing information to inform strategy and practice.

About Children's Services - Norfolk Advisory Services

How much you achieve in life should not be determined by how much your parents earn. Yet in the UK, it too often is. We are an education charity. We work with like-minded people and organisations towards a day where every child has the education they are entitled to. We train people with leadership potential to be inspirational teachers in schools in low-income communities across the country. These leaders go on to work in schools and other sectors of society towards our vision: a future where no child's educational success is limited by their socio-economic background.
