Manor Lodge is a co-educational school with approximately 450 pupils ranging from 3-11 years old. We have outstanding academic success and a strong reputation for STEAM as well as music, drama and sport.
We have a beautiful site in open countryside, nestling within fields, woodland and wildlife – but only 1 mile from Junction 22 of the M25 and within easy reach of local towns. It is a perfect setting to create lifelong memories of a secure childhood surrounded by space and freedom.
Philosophy
At Manor Lodge, we offer children a balanced education in a supportive and friendly atmosphere.
Working with parents, we seek to identify and nurture our pupils’ potential.
The education we offer draws on traditional strengths and puts them in a modern context. Pupils are given a secure grounding in literacy, numeracy, science and ICT. They are also taught a wide range of other subjects in our excellent up-to-date facilities.
However, as well as the formal curriculum, we firmly believe in the benefits of fostering wider interests. Children are given opportunities to develop skills in a wide range of other areas.
Good liaison is fundamental to our philosophy, and we take pride in the attention given to each individual child. School and home work closely together to identify and develop confidence and academic potential.
The children are taught by friendly, well-qualified teachers in small classes. As a consequence there is a high standard of work and behaviour amongst the pupils. We seek to develop good manners, politeness and social skills.
More Than Just Lessons
The most important reason for going to school is to learn. However, we know that there is more to school than just lessons, and we provide an extensive range of clubs and activities for the children to try.
We take all our children, in their year groups, to a wide range of places of interest and fun which are related to the topic work that they do.
We also encourage our children to consider others less fortunate than themselves by raising money for charity.
The School is registered as an Eco School, we have a team of children from Year 1 to Year 6 who meet regularly with staff, parents and advisers from the University of Hertfordshire to discuss and plan projects which will increase our sustainability and thereby reduce wastage and subsequently costs.
