Our school provision meets the needs of learners with generic learning difficulties from 11-19. The staff are passionate about providing pupils with meaningful learning experiences which are aimed at promoting their development needs. The Governors are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, experienced and inspirational PE Teacher, who will join our enthusiastic staff team on the next stage of its journey. This is a fantastic opportunity for suitably qualified and experienced teachers with a proven record of success.

Job Purpose: To consistently teach good/outstanding PE/Physical & Sensory lessons that engage pupils, meet specificity of need, and provide autism enablement so that progress is made across the curriculum, as well as through therapeutic intervention. PE/Physical & Sensory is taught co-educationally.

Additionally, to: 

  • Access, monitor and record pupil progress in PE
  • Build effective working relationships with support staff, other teachers, middle leaders, and therapists to further develop the Quality of Education across the school.
  • To implement therapeutic or academic interventions within PE/Physical & Sensory to meet need as required.
  • To ensure that all young people make at least expected progress and that ambitious targets for student performance are met in all Key Stages.
  • To continue to develop an innovative and progressive curriculum in PE lessons which is supported by a vibrant programme of extracurricular and enrichment activities.
  • To performance manage robustly all leaders, teachers and support staff in the PE Department so that ambitious targets are met and there is a clear link between pay and progression.
