This is a unique opportunity for a candidate able to teach PE to KS3 through to KS5 who is ambitious in their career aspirations.  We are looking to appoint an outstanding male PE teacher to join our innovative team at this 11-18 Free School which opened in September 2012.  This post would suit someone who is conscientious, vibrant and forward thinking who can deliver creative, high quality teaching to students.  The ideal candidate will be passionate about their subject and to providing an excellent education experience, underpinned by a Christian ethos, for children and families of the Atherton community.  In a rapidly expanding school there will be plenty of opportunities opening up for promotion.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Teaching of KS3-KS5 PE, including BTEC sport
  • Planning well-structured dynamic lessons which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
  • Adapting teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils
  • Making accurate and productive use of assessment
  • Contributing to raising standards within the school
  • Contributing to the delivery of exciting and innovative project-based learning through developing schemes of work and delivering curricular content
