Norlington School and Sixth Form is an 11-16 boys Comprehensive School with a mixed sixth form. The school was recently recognised as one of the top 100 schools in the country (2014), and the most improved boys school in London (2013). The school is extremely proud that there is no disparity of performance between any student groups in the school.

Norlington was recently judged to be a ‘good school’ by Ofsted 2013 where

We require from September 2015 someone who is

  • Passionate about PE with the ability to motivate and inspire students
  • Can demonstrate excellent teaching and classroom management skills
  • Has the ability to build good relationships with all students and adults
  • Has a commitment to support and develop our extensive and successful enrichment/extra-curricular programme
  • Can promote and maintain the highest standards in all aspects of the work in the school.
  • Someone who has high aspirations for all students
  • An innovative practitioner who is creative in their delivery of the KS 3 and 4 curriculum.

PE is a high achieving and dynamic department. Members of the team are totally committed to ensuring successful outcomes for all our students. We currently offer students GCSE PE and BTEC Sport. Norlington has enjoyed sporting success and recognition at local, regional and national level in a range of activities including cricket, basketball, volleyball and table-tennis. This post would suit a Newly Qualified Teacher. The successful applicant will be given full support in their career development as we believe that development of staff is a key aspect in raising standards for our students as we continue our journey to becoming an ‘Outstanding’ school. We offer an outstanding CPD programme to our staff.

Norlington School and  6th Form is an all boys, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school in the London Borough of Waltham Forest, serving students from the age of 11-16. The secondary school, situated in Leyton has approximately 444 pupils on record. It has a co-educational sixth form for students between the ages of 16-18, which opened in 2015.

Formerly Norlington Road Council School, Norlington School was established in 1902 as a mixed all-through school. In 1948 it became single sex. In 2013, it was identified as good by Ofsted.

Norlington School and 6th Form wants all students to achieve to the highest of their ability, with the belief that everyone has the ability to accomplish their goals and ambitions. The secondary school wants to provide a stimulating learning environment where pupils feel inspired to achieve, and are supported and guided by caring and dedicated teachers. The school’s motto is “Wisdom is Strength,” wanting to nurture students skills, knowledge and values so that they can succeed and throughout their adult life. Norlington School and 6th Form encourages students to get involved with extra-curricular activities to further develop their skills outside the classroom and gain confidence in their abilities. The school holds specialism in Maths and Computing, along with a Healthy Schools status, Investors in People award.
