We are delighted to be making an appointment for the position of Teacher of Performing Arts/Drama for our high achieving, Ofsted Outstanding, 11-18 academy in North Yorkshire.

Outwood Academy Easingwold has one of the highest performing Post 16 centres in North Yorkshire and our GCSE results are one of the highest for non-selective schools, an achievement we are incredibly proud of.  

Outwood Academy Easingwold is an Outstanding-rated, 11-18 academy based in the beautiful town of Easingwold, just north of York. We are part of the of the successful Outwood Grange Family Trust, which is a Trust that supports 41 schools across various phases in the North of England.

We have a nurturing school community that is welcoming and friendly, where students and staff can make excellent progress together, with a focus on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning, and increased attainment, achievement and social and emotional development.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Drama Teacher to join our friendly and ever evolving Drama department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a highly experienced Head of Department who is supportive and enthusiastic and has an excellent track record of achieving outstanding results at both KS4 and KS5. The department has a strong curriculum that is well-planned and ready to deliver, with the flexibility to allow for the successful candidate to contribute their own creative ideas and style of pedagogy. The department engages in a range of extra curricular activities including an annual musical, Winter and Summer Concerts, Outwood Performance of the Year which is a trust wide competition open to every student within the trust. The successful candidate for this temporary post will be working within a large Trust of schools and wherever possible, we will look for opportunities for this candidate beyond this post. As a member of the Outwood family, you will be aligned with our vision, which places 'Students First' at its core.

At Outwood Academy Easingwold we have impressive facilities, with 2 drama studios each with programmable lighting and sound. We have opportunities for students to learn skills on our lighting rig and up to date surfaceless P.A. and we encourage students to take part and develop skills at every facet of performing arts from costume design to set building and beyond. We regularly attract audiences of 250 plus for our shows. We are proud to be a successful performing arts department within the Trust, and regularly host and invite the community into the academy to enjoy our professional standard productions.

We are an “Outstanding” 11-18 academy, based in the market town of Easingwold in North Yorkshire, near York and were rated Outstanding by Ofsted in its report published in September 2022.

Playing an active role in our local community is important to us and we regularly work with community members of a range of projects. Our sports hall and 3G sports pitch is also available for hire, giving the local community access to state of the art sporting facilities.

We have won numerous awards as a school and we have been accredited with the prestigious IQM Award, which highlights that inclusion at all levels is of paramount importance to us. We are also proud to have been awarded Silver Status by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health Award.

Our success led to us appearing in the Sunday Times School Guide 2020, where we ranked as the 14th best school in the North and the 235th best school overall in the country.
