Changing Lives – A unique opportunity to join a brand new all-through Academy

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable Phase Leader for Early Years and KS1 to join us in creating an outstanding centre of educational excellence in our new Oasis Academy in Sheffield.

In response to a rise in population in the Sheffield area, Oasis Academy Don Valley (working title) will open in September 2015 as a brand new all-through Academy on the site of the former Don Valley stadium in the Darnall and Attercliffe area of Sheffield. The Academy will open with pupils from Reception to Year 4, along with 26 FTE Nursery places. It will then grow year-on, with the secondary scheduled to open in the next few years, until it reaches1170 pupils when full in 2022.

As the Phase Leader you will guide the team to achieve high, consistent standards of teaching and pupil achievement whilst ensuring that you work with senior colleagues to implement a consistent approach across the academy. As a crucial member of our brand new team, you will also be expected to contribute to curriculum and policy development, formation of policies and teaching strategies and embedding the Oasis Ethos into all aspects of the new Academy.

The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher and engaging leader with experience of working with children from disadvantaged areas. You must have high expectations for all and the ability to embrace change and inspire your team to achieve the best possible outcomes for their pupils. We are seeking an engaging individual with a high level of expertise in teaching and learning and experience of developing school policies.

Oasis Academy Don Valley will be part of the Oasis Community Learning family, a multi-academy sponsor with the express purpose of transforming schools into community Hubs, through applying a holistic view of education. Oasis primary Academies this year showed students on average making better than expected progress in reading, writing and maths.

This new post offers an exciting opportunity to be part of this nationally growing organisation, making a difference to communities on a local level, while individually improving the life chances of young people.
