Nottingham British School, is a private international school delivering the National Curriculum of England to pupils from KG (Nursery) to Year 13. The school will open this September with the Primary Phase, KG (Nursery) to Year 6 expanding into the Secondary Section the following year. The school is opening in a new building and is well resourced. Classrooms have IWBs and Specialist Subject facilities for Music, ICT, Art and PE.

Kuwait is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, with a very high per capita income. The Kuwaiti dinar is one of the world’s strongest currencies. Kuwaitis by nature are generous and well-travelled and English is widely spoken. All the latest international and UK brands are to be found in the excellent shopping malls. The summers are long and hot, with a short winter. There are many sporting and other recreational activities available.

Key Stage Leaders

Enthusiastic and adaptable quality classroom practitioners are required for August 2015.

All candidates must be fluent English speakers. Some experience of teaching the English National Curriculum is an advantage but consideration will be given to those new to teaching and those with experience of other international curricula. Candidates should have a genuine commitment to child centred and active learning, putting children first and ensuring that they are challenged as individuals. Early Years candidates must be committed to the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and Learning through Play. Positions of responsibility are available for suitable candidates.

The successful candidates will be highly committed team players with the drive, energy and passion to develop this new and forward-looking school. Applicants must be willing to lead by example and play a full part in the School’s pastoral care and extra-curricular programme.

The successful applicant for these posts will:

  • Be able to engage and motivate all pupils;
  • Be passionate about young people and education;
  • Hold a degree and Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent;
  • Show commitment to the principle that all children can achieve and should have high expectations
  • Skillfully use assessment for learning and match learning to individual learner need;
  • Wish to engage in the whole school, through extra-curricular activity and learning outside the classroom, as well as within;
  • Seek to consistently improve his/her own practice through Continuous Professional Development;
  • Promote the wider aspirations and values of the school;
  • Be a fluent English speaker
