Nurorda International School (NIS) is a non-profit private school executing under the umbrella of International Foundation KATEV that runs a network of over thirty secondary schools and a university all over Kazakhstan. The School caters for a range of local and international students residing in Astana, the new vibrant capital of Kazakhstan.

The School has a purpose built building that is situated in the newly erected part of the city and offers its students excellent modern facilities for learning and recreation. The curriculum in Primary and Secondary follows Cambridge International Programmes including Cambridge Primary, Secondary 1 & 2, and Advanced Level. The curriculum is also enriched with very few local subjects such as Kazakh language, History & Geography of Kazakhstan to meet the needs of our local students.  As part of external assessment, our students sit a set of Cambridge International examinations like Cambridge Primary and Secondary Checkpoints, Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International AS/A Levels.

We are a regular member of the Council of International Schools (CIS), a registered centre for Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and CISCO Networking Academy.

We seek a passionate and dedicated Primary Art teacher for a vacancy in our Primary School. Candidates are expected to possess a commitment to creating and managing a caring, supportive, purposeful and stimulating environment which is conducive to student’s learning, and to be able to adapt to new cultures, environment and climate easily.

The majority of our students are local nationals, for whom English is not the First Language. Besides, we have fluent English speaking local nationals and expatriates and their number is growing year by year.

Minimum requirements:

  • Native English Speaker
  • At least three year full time teaching experience
  • Bachelor of Education Diploma (or Bachelor of Science Diploma plus Teaching Certificate)

Experience of teaching English National Curriculum or Cambridge International Programmes and overseas teaching experience are desired but not essential.

Spectrum International School is a non-profit private school executing under the umbrella of BILIM ORDA International Foundation that runs a network of over thirty secondary schools and a university all over Kazakhstan. The School caters for a range of local and international students residing in Astana, the new vibrant capital of Kazakhstan. The School was established in 2008 as the initiative of BILIM ORDA to contribute to the dynamically growing market of international education in Kazakhstan.

The purpose built school building is located in the new administrative part of the city among a diverse range of recently completed structures which had been accredited to internationally acclaimed architects and designers such as Kisho Kurokawa, Manfredi Nicoletti or Norman Foster. The School has excellent facilities including several indoor gyms for doing various kinds of sports, semi-Olympic indoor swimming pool, spacious cafeterias, modern classrooms and laboratories, and many more.

The School offers a balanced and integrated curriculum that will meet our students' diverse learning needs. The curriculum integrates the national curriculum of Kazakhstan and Cambridge International Programmes for Primary, Secondary 1 & 2, and Advanced Level. The programme is intended from Nursery to Grade 12. From Grade 1 to Grade 5 the core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science follow the Cambridge International Primary Programme enriched with ICT, Fine Art, Music and Physical Education all taught in English. As part of Kazakh National Curriculum, Kazakh Language (Reading & Writing) is offered.  

From Grade 6 to Grade 12, our entire examined curriculum comes from Cambridge International Examinations. Additionally, Kazakh Language and Literature, History and Geography of Kazakhstan are taught as part of Kazakh National Curriculum.

There are four levels of Cambridge international examinations that our students take:

  • Primary Checkpoint – sat at Grade 5 level;
  • Checkpoint – sat at Grade 8 level;
  • IGCSE –sat at Grade 10 level;
  • A Levels –a two-year course sat at Grade 11 (AS) and Grade 12 (A2).
