Job Description for Position: Primary Homeroom Teacher

Responsibilities:

Job Scope

  • Teaching all areas of the primary curriculum.
  • Taking responsibility for the progress of a class of primary-age students.
  • Organising the classroom and learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment.
  • Planning, preparing and presenting differentiated lessons that cater the needs of the whole ability range within their class.
  • Motivating students with enthusiastic, imaginative class activities.
  • Preparing, marking and providing feedback to facilitate positive student development.
  • Meeting requirements for the assessment. Records, evaluates and reports student’s development.
  • Providing feedback to parents on student's progress.
  • Working collaboratively with others to plan and coordinate work.
  • Organising and taking part for school events, outings and activities.
  • Undertake special assignments, ad-hoc functions and related duties as and when required.

Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Education/Teaching or equivalent.
  • At least 3 year(s) of relevant teaching experience in schools.
  • Exposure in international curriculum such as IPC / IGCSE would be an added advantage.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English.
  • Good presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibits self-motivation, high work standards and attention to detail.

About Rafflesia International School, Puchong Campus

The Puchong Campus of Rafflesia International Schools is a mixed non-denominational all-through school situated in Puchong, a major town in the Petaling District of the Selangor state in Malaysia. It is an English language state school and a member of Rafflesia International & Private Schools, a partnership of schools across a number of countries that pride themselves on being “a connected learning environment and community”. Rafflesia has one other school, the Kajang Campus, situated in Malaysia. The school caters for students from Nursery to Year 11. It offers Nursery to Year Six students its International Primary Curriculum (IPC), Year Seven to Nine students the Cambridge Secondary curriculum blended with National Curriculum of England (NCE) and Cambridge’s IGCSE Curriculum for its Year 10-11 students. It also offers KBSM and KSSM, the local curriculum for Malaysians.

The Puchong Branch of the schools opened its doors to students in September 2013, a school environment conceived whilst bearing in mind the school’s holistic educational model. It has been a recognised Cambridge Internal Examinations School from the very start.
