A Truly Great College - Passionate About Success

Following the recent announcement that our Principal and Chief Executive Cathy Walsh is moving on in July 2015, after 7 years of outstanding service, the College is seeking to appoint a new Principal & CEO, who is an exceptional leader of people.

Someone who is passionate and driven about student success, through education and training that leads to economic independence. Someone who is aspirational and can motivate and inspire with confidence - students, staff and external stakeholders. Someone with business and commercial acumen, with people skills of a higher order, with creativity, innovation and enterprising approaches to how the College is led and managed.

Barking & Dagenham College was rated by Ofsted in April 2013 as "Outstanding" for its Leadership, Management and Governance with "Good" for Overall Effectiveness. It is a vibrant and highly successful College in East London with c.12,500 students, c.500 established staff and a turnover that has grown by 25% in 6 years and is now £35m. We are immensely proud of the achievements of our students, our motivated and entrepreneurial staff teams and our extensive employer partnership networks, some of which operate from the College campus. We have a Job centre Plus on campus.

We now seek to appoint a new and dynamic leader to take the College forward into its next phase of development, progressing from a strong platform that is agile and hungry to new business, well respected amongst employer networks and parents, and entrepreneurial in the delivery of the student experience and our curriculum products. Our new Principal and CEO will continue the College's journey of transformation and ambition to position the College as a Regional Centre of Excellence in technical and professional training. You will be a leader who is able to inspire all of our delivery teams and understand the importance of an holistic approach to education and training. A leader who will bring new ideas to further develop our outstanding student and customer centred approaches that focus on entrepreneurialism.

If you are an exceptional, student centred leader of people, passionate about success, then we want to hear from you.

We are working with Protocol on this important appointment.

To discuss this appointment, please contact Helen Anderson on 0115 911 1117, or visit www.protocol.co.uk/BDC or www.bdc.ac.uk (working for us).
