Job overview

Christ Church Grammar School

Founded in 1910 and located a short distance from the centre of Perth, CCGS is a flourishing independent non-selective school in the Anglican tradition serving approximately 1,600 boys from Pre-Primary to Year 12. True to the intent of the School’s founder, Canon McClemans, who aspired to provide a school that catered for all boys, Christ Church is committed to providing a diverse and inclusive community where individuals are respected and all boys can belong.

After 15 years of exemplary service, the current Head, Mr Garth Wynne, leaves Christ Church Grammar at the end of 2015 and will take up the position of Head at Christ’s College in New Zealand. The School Council now seeks a high-calibre successor who will continue the balance Garth has achieved between continuity and change. The search for the School’s 12th Head occurs at a time when enrolments are strong and sustained, and academic and co-curricular results place the School at the leading edge of schools of its type in Australia and beyond.

In the first instance, please obtain a Position Description by contacting the consultant assisting the School, Kathy McLean, of Fish & Nankivell, on M: +61 414 376 698 or E: Kathy@fnow.com.au

Applications will close on 20 July 2015.

Christ Church Grammar School is an Anglican day and boarding school for boys from Pre-School to Year 12. Located in Perth, Western Australia, the School overlooks the Swan River at Freshwater Bay in Claremont. 1310 boys, 110 of whom are boarders, are enrolled at Christ Church. 950 boys study in the Senior School (Years 8 to 12) and 360 attend the Preparatory School (Pre-School to Year 7). Christ Church inspires and develops its students by encouraging diversity, facilitating enquiry and creating an environment in which each individual is purposefully involved. The School’s dynamic programs enable boys and young men to search for their talents and discover their social conscience and character. The academic program, as reflected in the School’s consistently high TEE results, is outstanding. A caring pastoral system complemented by specialist programs in the arts, sport and outdoor education cater for the diverse needs of the boys. Activities such as sailing, service learning and robotics further enrich the learning experience.
