For the academic year 2015-2016, we seek a vibrant, servant-hearted leader for this thriving Christian school. August (preferred) 2015 or January 2016 start.

We provide a high quality learner-centred education for expatriate children in Dhaka, Bangladesh, based on a British curriculum and conducted in a Christian environment.

Grace is oversubscribed: currently we have 240 students, from over 30 nationalities. We have 3 campuses: Early Years (aged 3-6), Primary School (aged 6-11), and Secondary School (aged 11-16). We follow the English National Curriculum. We are a not-for-profit independent Christian School firstly serving the mission and Christian expatriate community, but welcoming students from all international backgrounds.

This is an opportunity to lead a supportive, committed team. We seek a leader with a heart for mission and a personal Christian faith and active spiritual life which is sustaining and fresh.

The successful candidate will be offered, without prejudice, the opportunity to work during the 2015-2016 academic year alongside the incumbent to ensure smooth transition.

The successful candidate would ideally have:

• Sound, relevant qualifications from the UK or some similar background
• Broad, solid foundations of teaching experience
• Leadership experience
• Experience of living and working in the developing world
• Experience and understanding of the English National Curriculum
• An emotional intelligence which allows him/her to appreciate people of many ages and cultures, and to enjoy working with them.
• The insight to immediately grasp and relate to the particular culture, educational principles and true purpose of Grace International School
• The resilience and sense of humour needed to deal with complex issues of types which are beyond any one person’s strengths.
• An energy, imagination and vision for how this Christian school should develop – and the ability to convey this to a team of colleagues and other stakeholders in the school community.
