Job overview

For exceptional, relevant experience we are prepared to consider a higher salary range

Ryecroft Primary Academy converted to an Academy in September 2012 and is sponsored by Northern Education Trust, a nationally recognised and trusted academy sponsor with an excellent reputation. The Academy was rated as 'outstanding' in all areas (Ofsted May 2014). This could be your opportunity to make a significant and measurable difference in developing the educational attainment of our children and young people.

We are looking for an outstanding leader to lead an outstanding school with Teaching School designation and provide strategic direction to meet ambitious targets for attainment and achievement. With the involvement of multiple stakeholders and high expectations in the local community, there's a need for real strategic vision, commitment and a clear focus on delivery. The potential rewards are enormous. You will be working in a reinvigorated and innovative learning environment, where children and young people are encouraged to develop skills that will truly equip them for life and where the area is supported in community regeneration. You will also be part of the Trust family of Academies with a set of values we all share.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong leadership background in primary education to deliver tangible results. You will have excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills as well as demonstrable evidence of developing achievement.

Visits to the Academy and informal discussions are encouraged; please contact Helen Clegg, Director of Primary Academies on 0191 2804738 or by email to helen.clegg@northerneducationtrust.org
Dates for tour of the Academy prior to submitting an application: Wednesday 11 March 2015 (by appointment).

Welcome from the Principal

I am very proud to lead the team at Ryecroft Primary Academy where staff and parents work together in partnership to ensure that we provide our children with opportunities enabling them to be the best they can be.

The academy is a smaller than average primary school catering for pupils from our 2-year old provision and our Early Years Foundation Stage, through Key Stage 1 and into Key Stage 2. There are currently 281 pupils on roll, including 24 part time Nursery pupils and 11 part time 2-year-olds.

The academy is situated in the community of Holmewood Bradford.

The academy has been on a journey and is now judged as a good school (January 2019). Children learn best when they feel safe and secure and we endeavour to provide a stimulating safe environment where children can excel. The academy has high expectations of behaviour for learning so that the pupils can achieve the best outcomes possible.

The academy’s curriculum is broad and balanced and carefully planned to engage the pupils’ interests. Pupils enjoy activities such as trumpets, Forest Schools, jujitsu and Active maths.

If you are looking for an inclusive school, please contact us to have a look around.
