Job overview

The Rochester Diocesan Board of Education and The Williamson Trust are seeking to appoint a new Principal for our academy to start in September 2015.

Are you:

  • Passionate about primary education?
  • Motivated by the desire to transform children’s life chances?
  • Able to build high performing teams?

Do you have:

  • Personal integrity, approachability and commitment to our Christian ethos?
  • A track record of successful leadership?
  • An unshakeable belief that there is no ceiling to achievement?

If so, we want to hear from you.

St James is a friendly and ambitious one-form entry Church of England primary school and Children’s Centre, which was judged to be ‘good’ in all areas in the recent OFSTED inspection.

As our new Principal, you will benefit from:

  • Happy children who are eager to learn and happy to be challenged;
  • Supportive Parents who have a desire to help the school improve;
  • A talented team of teachers and staff dedicated to the needs of the children;
  • Opportunities for professional and leadership development across the family of schools in the Diocese of Rochester and The Williamson Trust

We are looking to appoint a Principal to lead our academy, who will work closely with the Governing Body and with the two co-sponsors. The successful candidate will be able to draw on the experience and expertise of the wider family of schools within the Diocese and The Williamson Trust and we are looking for a proven leader who can fully exploit these opportunities to drive further improvement and share best practice.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic leader with the vision and passion to improve educational standards and ensure good continuity and progression throughout the primary phase.

Visits to the academy are warmly encouraged – please contact Tracy Upton on 01634 270341 to arrange a time.

For more information about the role please contact: Alex Tear, Director of Education, Diocese of Rochester at: alex.tear@rochester.anglican.org

Closing date: Monday 2nd March
Interviews: Thursday 19th March and Friday 20th March

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Criminal Records Bureau. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
