This is an exciting opportunity to lead one of the largest and most successful colleges in the country with an excellent reputation for leadership and innovation in curriculum development. With a turnover of £61million, Newcastle College is highly ambitious for its learners and the region. Operating out of an impressive site in Newcastle city centre, the College offers a wide range of programmes from entry level to higher education. It also has Foundation Degree Awarding Powers and offers progression to a range of HE programmes. The College is also in the process of applying for Taught Degree Awarding Powers, which will open up a further range of possibilities.

You will be responsible for leading the College at a time of rapid change across the sector to develop and deliver a strategy that meets the needs of our learners and our ambitions for the future. As such, you will play a key role in the educational and economic development of the region, working with a range of employers, stakeholders and partners to ensure that appropriate skills training and employability remain at the forefront of our business planning.

To successfully meet these challenges, it will be crucial to fully engage all of our staff in the strategy as it develops. Therefore, we are seeking a successful leader who will develop and inspire staff at all levels, embedding a collaborative culture that aligns with our vision.

This work will be undertaken within the NCG group structure, offering the Principal the opportunity to play a wider strategic role in the development of a business worth c£200m. You will have a track record of senior leadership in a successful, complex further education organisation which will be complemented by extensive management experience and highly effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
