Job overview

Ealing continues to provide high quality school improvement services to all of its schools in all phases including academies. The service is now expanding, as a result of further investment by schools, to offer a wide range of high quality collaborative learning opportunities, training and bespoke support.

89% of Ealing primary schools currently provide a good or outstanding standard of education. This represents a significant improvement from 66% in 2011. Our ambition is that every school will be good or outstanding and supported to continuously improve through the development of strong and sustainable partnership working.

Ealing Council is looking for an exceptional leader to join a thriving School Effectiveness team to build on our excellent track record of working in partnership with school leaders to raise standards, close achievement gaps, to remove barriers to learning, and to secure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.

The children in our primary schools represent the widest spectrum of ethnic backgrounds and economic status. Ealing schools have made significant progress in closing attainment gaps and exceeding national expectations but breaking the links between disadvantage and educational attainment remains our biggest challenge.

To be successful you will be a strategic thinker and inspirational leader who can quickly gain the confidence of schools and communities to inspire further improvement and overcome challenges. You will be effective in initiating new approaches to collaborative working, strengthening peer review and the generation of new knowledge and approaches to local challenges. In addition you will be able to nurture, promote and grow talent in schools to develop future leaders. Above all you will be fully committed to working in partnership with headteachers, to promote and develop the conditions for successful school-led improvement and innovation.
