Job overview

In September 2015, Cecil Jones College joins the Legra Academy Trust, where it will be sponsored by Belfairs Academy.

This represents a fresh start for a school that is currently judged to be inadequate by Ofsted and is in real need of expert direction and leadership to deliver the quality of education its students deserve. Bev Williams, Belfairs’ highly successful Principal, will become the Executive Principal of Cecil Jones College and the Legra Academy Trust is now looking for a committed and ambitious Principal to work with Bev and deliver a transformation in the school’s performance and outcomes.

You will...

  • Provide the inspirational and motivational leadership and stability the school deserves.
  • Maintain a focus on improving the quality and consistency of teaching and learning, assessment and feedback.
  • Raise pupil aspirations by broadening their horizons and making them responsible for their learning.
  • Rebuild the school’s standing in the community it serves and make it the natural first choice for parents.

You are...

  • An outstanding and ambitious Deputy or Vice Principal, with substantial experience of school leadership and rapid school improvement.
  • An outstanding communicator with the ability to engage with and motivate staff, students and parents/carers.
  • Ambitious, skilled and experienced with the operational expertise to manage an academy’s assets, human and financial resources.
  • Able to balance day to day priorities with strategic vision, clear goal-setting, delegation and accountability.
  • Able to model effective teaching and learning and deliver a high-quality curriculum for all students.
  • Eager to work in partnership with the Executive Principal and sponsor academy and build open and honest relationships with all key stakeholders.

Your reward...

In return for your energy, resilience and experience, we offer you an exceptional introduction to school leadership. Benefitting from the guidance and support of an Executive Principal with a proven track record of school improvement, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact on a school with a history of under achievement and provide its community with the educational opportunities it aspires to and deserves. You will work closely with a supportive Governing Body that is able to reward your commitment and offer you an attractive remuneration package with a relocation package, if required. Finally, you will be working with a new academy trust whose ambitions will continue to offer exciting new opportunities.

To discover more about this exciting opportunity and for an information pack, please contact our retained consultant, John Carter at Veredus on 07725 607112 or email him at john.carter@veredus.co.uk. Please supply a contact telephone number.

You are actively encouraged to visit the academy prior to the interviews. To arrange a visit, please contact John Carter at Veredus.

Closing date for applications: Friday 15th May 2015
Interviews: Thursday 21st May 2015
