Visions and value

The school’s main values are aspiration, respect, compassion, honesty, fairness and equality of opportunity. The school strives to provide a caring, safe, aspirational, inclusive and supportive environment where people can reach their full potential. The school prioritises learning and teaching above all else and works hard to provide a high quality experience for learners of all abilities.

The Curriculum for Excellence provides a flexible, broad programme that helps children gain the knowledge, skills and attributes they’ll need further on in life. It aims to develop each pupil’s skills in literacy and numeracy. The subjects offered are expressive arts, languages and literacy, health and well-being, maths and numeracy, religious and moral education, science, social studies and technologies. There is also a wide array of extra-curricular activities available and the school is particularly strong in charity work, sports, music and art.

Education Scotland

“Most young people are keen to learn. They take part in lessons well and listen carefully to their teachers’ helpful explanations and clear instructions. Young people benefit from a wide range of learning activities which take good account of their experiences and interests. They work confidently on their own and in groups, helping each other to learn. Teachers use young people’s views well to improve their learning experiences.”
