The Mount School York is a high achieving day and boarding school for girls aged 3 to 18. We are leaders in educating girls and understanding their needs, inspiring confident young women, enabling them to believe nothing is beyond their reach.

Creating an environment where every girl is valued, enabled to flourish and given the confidence to know they can achieve is at the heart of The Mount School ethos. Mount School girls learn to think for themselves, developing both resilience and empathy. Girls grow at their own pace, free from pressures to conform, they become self-assured and happy young women with the ambition and confidence to succeed.

In our last ISI Inspection, The Mount School was judged to be excellent for both ‘pupils’ academic and other achievements’ and ‘pupils’ personal development’, excellent being the highest grade achievable. The inspectors commented on the ‘exuberantly confident’ girls and the ‘sense of empowerment’ they exhibited. They also noted on the ‘ethos of tolerance and care for others found throughout the School’, an ethos permeating form our Quaker Heritage.

Our bespoke and engaging curriculum is tailored to motivate and enthuse girls from Early Years to Sixth Form. Girls are given a strong foundation of knowledge and a variety of learning. Within our inspiring all-girls community each girl develops to her full potential. Pupils learn to think independently, and discover their passions, leaving them ready to make a positive contribution to our changing world.
