This role is a fundamental element of the School management structure at Suffolk New College, and will lead on operational and strategic aspects of Performance and Production Arts, Entry 3 and Level 1, Programmes across Creative Arts, along with ensuring the effective design and delivery of study programmes to our students. You will have responsibility for developing staff teaching in order to ensure a high quality experience for all students.

You should have proven expertise and knowledge of successful team and course management, along with an effective problem solving ability and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Teaching is an important element of the Programme Leader role, you should, therefore, be able to demonstrate a proven background and teaching expertise. You should also be able to demonstrate a profile of Grade 1 or 2 lesson observations, and have a recognised teaching qualification. It would also be advantageous to have an informed understanding of the relevant awarding body requirements across the specific areas of responsibility, in order to contribute to the development of the Curriculum.

You will need to be able to demonstrate:

  • Effective people management experience.
  • Knowledge in curriculum planning as related to post 16.
  • Effective influencing skills.
  • Proven teaching expertise in Performance and Production Arts to those aged 16+, and a profile of Grade 1 or 2 lesson observations.
