A Programme Leader is required for the current programme grouping of Biology and Environmental Studies.

Reporting to the Curriculum Leader, the Programme Leader will lead a programme area, the composition of which may vary according to the business needs of the College and any review of academic ‘fit’. The Programme Leader will manage staff within the programme area and aim to inspire, motivate and manage the performance of these colleagues ensuring that they make a positive contribution of the College strategic plan and Programme Area quality improvement plan.

The Curriculum Leader will oversee the implementation of strategic policies and work towards the development of teacher and support staff within the team, continually assessing the performance of the area and its members.

Applicants must possess a teaching qualification, possess a Degree or higher qualification and have recent experience and a proven track record of successfully teaching a subject at advanced level. Experience of teaching Biology, Chemistry or Applied Science at level 3 and experience of teaching/leading on a B/TEC course would be advantageous.

Applicants must have demonstrable experience of successful leadership and of managing a team, course and/or project and of contributing to the professional development of colleagues.

The post holder will be required to have an enhanced DBS check.
