Job overview

Skills for Care is the employer-led workforce development body for adult social care in England. We work with employers across England to make sure their people have the right skills and values to deliver high quality care.

Home of the National Skills Academy for Social Care, we offer workforce learning and development support and practical resources from entry level right through to those in leadership and management roles.

By working with employers and sharing best practice, we help raise quality and standards across the whole sector and ensure dignity and respect are at the heart of service delivery.

The purpose of this role is to actively support the organisation to drive forward the ambition around standards, qualifications, learning and apprenticeships and lead on and ensure the successful delivery of specified projects within Skills for Care.

With business acumen the post holder will be responsible for and contribute to the content, quality, development and maintenance of standards, learning, qualifications and apprenticeships that are both current and emerging in the sector.

The post holder will be actively engaging with key stakeholders across the sector to respond to employer needs and help formulate strategic and business solutions for new projects in standards, learning, qualifications and apprenticeships.

The post holder will have experience of cultivating and maintaining relationships with key strategic partners as well as working in a stakeholder environment (representative or membership organisations).

The postholder must be confident in the delivery of information to stakeholders/customers in written and oral form, and through presentations as they will be required to represent Skills for Care at national & regional meetings and at public / external events.

A working knowledge of workforce standards and how they contribute to a competent workforce as well as knowledge of the structures and functions of employment and education sectors and how they are resourced and managed is key to this role.

The postholder will support the Programme Head in national strategic development and contribute to the delivery of the workforce development strategy including deputising where necessary.
