Job overview

Vision for Education requires an outstanding Reception teacher to cover a maternity leave at a primary school in the South Tyneside area. The cover would be required from December (possibly earlier), the relevant teacher must be able to offer motivating and appropriate learning opportunities and are prepared to learn and develop their practice in a supportive and friendly environment. The position is full time and suitable for NQT’s.

The teacher will carry out the professional duties of a school teacher under reasonable direction from the Head teacher. Duties will include planning and preparing engaging lessons and activities, teaching according to the educational needs of specific children, assessing and recording the progress and development of the children, promote the general progress and well being of individual pupils etc.

The ideal candidate will have recent experience of teaching within the Foundation Stage and have excellent knowledge of the Early Years Curriculum. Experience of working within KS1 and a knowledge of the transitional phase would be highly desirable. Any applications should have a good work ethic, work well within a team, and have excellent communication skills and a good sense of humour.

Teachers who are able to offer a specialism, have experience of leading a team, evidence of CPD or have experience of teaching within creative or outdoor curriculum would be desirable although not essential.
