It is an ambitious and forward thinking group that is absolutely committed to the highest standards of provision. The group has a strong portfolio of 13 schools and 13 children’s homes for children and young people experiencing a range of needs from BESD to communication difficulties and complex learning difficulties, including ASC and Asperger’s Syndrome.

Witherslack Group is proud that all of their schools have market-leading Ofsted ratings with all currently graded as ‘outstanding’ or ‘good’. This has been achieved through an ethos of high aspiration, placement stability from their ‘team around the child’ approach, unique in school therapy solutions and their inspiring environments. These all combine to optimise life opportunities for children and young people, give confidence to parents and carers, and deliver unmatched value for Local Authorities. They are committed to maintaining this ethos and delivering continued improvement at all of their settings.

They are now seeking to appoint two Regional Director – Schools, one for the southern region and one for the northern region. These roles will be crucial to ensuring that the Witherslack Group continues to deliver outstanding outcomes for young people. You will be responsible for a group of schools and this will be both an operational and strategic role. The majority of time will be spent in schools working closely with the teams to support development plans whilst also ensuring they are at the forefront of innovations and raising standards in SEN education. You will provide line management to Head Teachers, oversee the delivery of quality management systems, deliver on a range of KPI’s and facilitate the sharing of good practice to ensure consistent high-quality service delivery.

Ambitious and forward thinking, applicants will have senior level education experience and a detailed knowledge and understanding of SEN and be passionate about this sector. You will be familiar with meeting financial targets and being accountable for outcomes and will have the ability to lead change but also the focus to ensure successful outcomes are reached. You should have the skills to build, lead and inspire effective teams and to be an effective team member and have excellent interpersonal skills. Above all you will share the Witherslack Group values and be committed to delivering the best possible outcomes for young people.
